Learning about new topics takes on a whole new look in the 21st century. What we used to learn in libraries, books, and encyclopedias, we can now also learn from e-books, websites, blogs, wikis, and pod casts. The last four are new emerging technologies that are taking school and college classrooms by storm.

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty familiar with most of the new up and coming technologies. When I look for information, i usually try to find it on a creditable website. Traditional resources may not be as well informed about the most recent achievements in technology. So learning from others is very resourceful become some people know much more about a topic if they are informed about it and have done it several times in the past.

I am fimilar with many different technologies like my phone, ipod, compuder and television. When i want information i go to the computer and google it. I can learn a lot from other people from web sites that were posted on the internet. ReplyDeleteWhen i need to find information, i usually google search it. I sometimes go to the library if im going past there for something, and check out some books. If i need some more information, thats not by the book info, i sometimes ask friends and family for help to see what they know. I've learned to use google directory, and i get more information, and i narrow it down.

ReplyDeleteI sometimes use easybib for citations in a report I have to type up for school. The first place I go to for info is Google. I think Google is great for finding random things you need to know, because it'll probably be in the search results. I'd ask other people for help because they might know some things I don't. I'd appreciate the new info because I learned something new.

I think that learning from people is a far more interesting way to learn because you actualy get to see what people are thinking. Since another person has experience, we can find out common mistakes they make while performing a task or job. When another person tells us their mistakes, we are less likely to make them. Also, some people like to learn from others rather than going to a library to read about it. When we learn from others, it can also be more enjoyable to learn about.

When I want information I usually use google. I barely use google directory, but I use google and it almost always takes me to what I want.
Its important to learn from others in the 21st century because its all changing and new, so sometimes you dont know what it is, so you ask someone who does know.

ReplyDeleteNew emerging technologies that I am familar with are new cell phones and different appalactions on the cell phones. Also, the internet and ipods, and game systems/ games.
For information I normally go to the internet. For example, google or yahoo.
I might learn different types of cells phones tht are good for different things. Maybe even different websites I could go to that would give me more correct infomation then google or yahoo.
When you learn from others you not just learn something new you learn how the other people do it and the right and wrong ways. You get more experiance from them then you do just going on a website.

ReplyDeleteTo answer these questons I have several different answers. I am only familiar with only one of these emerging technologies and I do not know it well. I know only a little bit about blogs. I know that they are used as a two way comunication and they are sortave like a phone conversation that you type or even like email. Other than that I don't know anything else. When I need information I usualy go to either Google or Yahoo. I think I could learn their personal opinions on different views or topics and more spasific information on topics they know more on. I think learning form others is important because we all have one or two subjects we like to learn about and have more advanced knowlage on.

ReplyDeleteThe way I get my information if i need it for something is by going online and checking websites. The sites that i normally use online are Google and Yahoo directory. Then to cut down on the number of sites i get, as well as to get better information on just my topic i am searching. I use things like quotation marks or the plus minus buttons to search for just those key words. That is how i find information and where i look for it

ReplyDeleteWhen I look for information I go to the internet. I think that the internet is the most useful source that you could use. When teachers ask to use more than one source I try to use a book like an encyclopedia or a biography. When I need information I usually stay at home instead of going to the library. When I need a book I go to the school library because they usually have what I need.

If you don't know much about a subject, instead of going on google and only hearing what one person said you can ask many peers and learn many things on one topic. You don't ever want to sound bais on a topic so hearing many opinions is a great way to learn.

When I am looking just for fun, I go to a search engine like Google. From other people, I might be able to learn opinions of others and what the public thinks of a certain topic.

You can share information through cell phones, web pages, and I-phones. Or if I want more information about something specific, I look online on google for pretty much everything. I think there is a lot to learn from other people, especially about current events and what people think about them. Other people always have new information and different ways of looking at certain things. You may believe something and then when you here someone else's way of looking at it you may change your way of thinking about that certain subject.

ReplyDeleteI mostly use websites like google or yahoo. I am aware of most modern technology like ipods and cell phones. I don't use wikipedia very often, because it is not a trusted source and there are many other sources of great information out there who are experienced in that field. I don't usually cut down my searches but use the best ones I find online. These are the types of technology that I am familiar with and use

ReplyDeleteSome new imerging technology I am familiar with is podcasts, and I-movie. Last year in my Honors Language Arts class we were required to create a pod cast about Romeo and Juliet. I think pod casts are fun to create. I just don't like how you sound when it is over the loud speaker. In my yearbook class this year we created comericals to remind people to order their yearbooks. It was fun to play with all of the different fonts and transitions and to add our own music.

cell phones. I used to google information, but after Mrs. Wiscount showed me how to "smart search" I am now using directories. Personally, I believe that we can learn different points of view from other people than from traditional resources. Although these resourses may be misleading, they can change your mind about things.

ReplyDeleteWhen I want to find good quality information I search on the internet. I do not look into books for information because books may have old information. I used to search on www.google.com before but now I look for information on webistes like www.ujiko.com or www.lii.org to get good quality information. Using directories in Google or Yahoo is better than just searching for information on the regular website. Using quotations and plus or minus signs is a very good idea to reduce the amount of inacurate links in your search. I recomend not using Wikipedia as one of your sources of information because Wikipedia is known for giving false information. This is how I get my information.

ReplyDeleteWhen I look for information for reports and projects, I usually use websites. I use directories such as google and yahoo which aid me in finding the best quality website. These websites then help me in writing quality reports and projects for my classes.
In the past for several of my classes I have used new and emerging technology such as glogster, moodle, and pod casts. These new technologies are very up-to-date, and they can show us how new generations will learn and be educated. I think knowing how to use these types of technology is very important, because in order to be successful in the future everyone needs to adapt to the new technologies. These new advances are also enviornmentally friendly. Why waste paper printing books, when you can put information online for everyone to see?
